55 days. A pure white, fairly smooth round heirloom beet from Holland. Its super sweet white flesh is unusual and tasty. The greens are also good. This beet can be used for making sugar.

What are the pros? Greens were excellent, flavor

What are the cons? N/A

Review:

Planted a fall crop and was very pleased. To me, only a very slight difference in flavor and though I love the deep red of a beet, kinda nice to not have red fingers every once in awhile. Greens were really good.

What are the pros? interesting

What are the cons? slightly bitter

Review:

The same exact thing happened to me. I was harvesting my beets today and pulled up a white one. At first I thought it was a turnip, but no purple around the top. Boiled it and skinned it, then cooked it up with some butter, parsley and brown sugar - a tad bitter - not as sweet as others have reviewed, but it was really big so probably should have picked it sooner. Anyway, looks and tastes just like a beet, but white. Interesting surprise!

What are the pros? Total fluke, awesome.

What are the cons? No complaints.

Review:

One of these seeds accidently snuck into another, red beet I ordered (bulls blood, I think). When I pulled it up I wasn't sure at first if it was a turnip or what. So instead of boiling it like I usally do - I fried it and combined it with some leftover collards. After one bite I realize it was NOT a turnip. Delicious beet flavor, but did not discolor everything it was cooked with! I'm ordering this next year! Great beet flavor - NO stains. It's also sweeter than a regular beet, so I think this will be a big hit with the kids. Factory mistake that I ended up loving.... :)

The greens were very good in salads. The beet root was tender and sweet.

These were super tasty roasted! I planted successive seeds every few weeks from spring till early fall, and they grew nicely. Next year I'll grow enough to try them for beet sugar.
