Annual. Classic funnel-shaped petunia flowers, straight from the gardens of yesteryear! The blooms are very showy in deep lavender-purple. Their rich, velvety texture completes the picture of lush garden opulence. Plants reach about 12 inches in height, bloom all summer if spent blooms are removed occasionally. A 1950’s favorite.

What are the pros? Sturdy, Great Germination

What are the cons? Not all Purple-Some Pale White

Review:

I thought I was getting all purple petunias. I cleaned out my dirt from pots from previous year's petunias, dumping everything to get a pure line of petunias in purple. Although many of the plants are purple, some are fushia and others are pale white, like those you get after a few years from store-bought annuals. I was hoping to collect the seeds and replant for a continual purple petunia. I don't mind variety petunias, so long as they keep their vivid color year after year. I'll try seed collecting just from the purple plants to see if I can get just purple next year, but I'll have to replace the soil again. Oh well. I would recommend this item if you want variety, not just purple.

What are the pros? beautiful, not fussy

What are the cons? none thus far

Review:

This is a very industrious plant. I put one sprout amongst my corn because it was accidentally uprooted from its seed pot earlier than I intended, and so I planted it anyway, not really expecting it to take. I didn't even water it in. It acts as if it has received the very best fertilizers! When in reality, until recently, it only received water and sun from the sky. Apparently, once it has a few good sets of leaves, it doesn't require much care--perfect! I will also add that it is very hard to photograph the color of this flower. It is purple, but a little bit more towards pink (still definitely purple, though) than the photograph above shows, and there are shades of purple within each blossom if you look closely.
