Dating from the 1870s this heirloom classic is a Pennsylvania Dutch selection of Landreth’s Tall Sugar Pea. The 7 to 8 foot vines produce edible 3-inch pods. It's also a
great shelling pea. otherwise the brown speckled dry seeds will make perfect soup peas. Call it a “three-in-one” pea. Plant early since it prefers cool weather. The colorful flowers make great garnishes for spring salads.
