Very small, fine leaves on compact bushes; great for containers. Perfect rich, spicy basil flavor that Italians love.

What are the pros? compact size for pots

What are the cons? lack of classic basil flavor

Review:

I liked growing this basil in pots for accessibility from my back door. I also gave a pot to my daughter who could grow it on her balcony in her apartment. But these leaves lack the classic, rich aromatic basil flavor. Very disappointing. It very possibly could be that we have had a wet summer, and the flavor has been washed out. Or it could be that basil just tastes better when it grows in the garden. I'll be growing it out there next year, even if I have to go a little farther to get it to use it. ;-)

What are the pros? flavor, appearance

What are the cons? sprouting

Review:

Be patient while waiting for these to sprout. Once they do, transplant to a large pot or in soil. Trim the tops for immediate use and soon you'll have a regular little bonsai, full of tiny green leaves that pack an intense flavor. Use sparingly with tomatoes.

Review:

I grow a lot of this, not that I can't get a lot off of one plant, but I absolutely love this basil-fresh in the summer and dehydrated for use during the winter. We keep the leaves whole in the dehydrator and rub the dried leaves in our palms to add to a dish and it could be a new perfume it's so fragrant. I love the smell and the taste it brings when added to food-amazing! The more I pull off the plant, the less fragrant, but I still get several pickings before the leaves are done with their "best".

Review:

These are a riot! Cute little compact bushes about the size of a tennis ball or a little bigger right now. (July) Nice flavor, a little less intense than regular sweet basil. Would do great in a pot. Will grow these again.
