What are the cons? flavor can be overpowering

Review:

We tried growing a few different basil's this year and this was one of my favorites. It has a strong lemony flavor. My wife picked a bunch of it and blanched it for freezing and the entire house took on this amazing citrusy basil aroma that was wonderful. I wonder if you could make potpourri out of this, it has a wonderful smell.

What are the cons? None

Review:

Tried it last year and LOVED IT, this will be added to my herb garden every year. The seeds germinated quite well and the plants were easy grow. Tolerated extreme heat without bolting, which is a big plus. It's great in recipes, adds a unique and distinct flavor. The dried leaves are great as a potpourri and the dried seeds & Chaff make a very delicious tea!!! What's not to like about that !??

What are the cons? everything

Review:

Did not care for this lemon basil at all.....nor did my friends. Unlike sweet basil, the leaves were tough and the lemon flavor was overpowering in dishes. Strong odor and flavor like lemon balm. Was expecting a predominantly basil taste with a touch of lemon but didn't happen. Flowers quickly.

Review:

This is very similar to the other lemon basil I am growing, except the leaves are slightly smaller. So far, it seems to be really thriving in the heat (has been over 100), but we will see how it holds up once we hit 115.. It has a great smell and taste (almost like lemon candy!I thought it would be more hairy, but I suppose that's a good thing, since most people don't like hair in their food.I will be growing this again and again
