A delicious, very sweet cucumber that is usually picked small and does not need peeling as the skin is very tender. This variety is very popular in the Mediterranean, having been developed in Israel at a kibbutz farm. Now becoming popular with Americans because of the fruits’ fine flavor and high yields. They are also burpless and have great shelf life.

What are the pros? tons of cucs per plant

What are the cons? not the best for pickles

Review:

These plants seriously produce tons of cucumbers per plant. There were so many that I tried pickling them. While the pickles were very tasty and good they were also pretty seedy and not very crunchy. I would definitely recommend this one as an outstanding salad cuc but not a pickler.

What are the pros? Care free

What are the cons? Highly irregular

Review:

Tasty, super easy to grow. But they were really irregular, like, every one I harvested had a skinny, undeveloped end and was curved and they all had odd mottled skin. Still tasted fine, but would be impossible to sell at market. Probably this season's abnormally variable rainfall had an impact; the plants never got dry, but perhaps dry enough to have malformed cukes. Still tasty, but I'll probably stick with Kirby next year.

What are the pros? Matured quickly, lots of fruit

What are the cons? none

Review:

Grew six of these in a backyard garden in Oakland CA. We got lots of tasty cucumbers and quick, but a cool spell in August (highs in the low 70s and lows in the high 50s) spelled doom. The leaves yellowed and powdery mildew ran rampant. This is really not a fault of the variety, though, since this happens to all of the cucumbers I've tried except lemon cucumbers.

What are the pros? Edible at all stages

What are the cons? none

Review:

We let these go to seed (bright yellow and fat with a hard shell). After we scraped out the seeds the flesh was still firm but now had a slight lemon flavor that was very nice! A definite keeper!

What are the pros? Sweet flavor

What are the cons? Big seeds

Review:

I grew three varieties of cucumber this year and this was the best. The only downside is big seeds, but I cut them out. The flesh has a delicious sweet flavor. Probably will grow these again.
