What are the pros? healthy, prolific
What are the cons? none so far
So it's May 15th and I already have 10 tomatoes on this plant- this was the earliest and most prolific producer so. The plant itself is healthy, sturdy and so far fairly compact compared to many of the other heirlooms. That said, I haven't seen/tasted the final product, but I'm impressed with the health and growth so much I felt I needed to give it a review. I'll update when my family has our first BLT!

What are the pros? Easty to grow,
What are the cons? Hard to tell when ripe
This plant grows tall and full. It has beautiful fruit that tastes so sweet!

This is one of the best tasting and most prolific large dark tomatoes. Impressive sizes and shapes, beautiful coloring, and excellent flavor. Absolutely the perfect BLT tomato. I sell these at our markets and people rave about them. Will definitely keep growing this one from here on out.

Hello to everybody! Actually this one is from my Russian black collection. The original name of this Russian CV is "Chyornyi Slon" (Black Elephant). Fruits of excellent flavor on potato leaf indet. plant. Really love this tomato variety!

Sad to see so little information on this one out there, but I just had to try it! I love weird looking tomatoes and I love purple tomatoes. I did indeed get plenty neat ones, half of the truly weird looking ones rotted though before even ripening. (Mine are grown in a greenhouse) The plants were very productive but not as heat tolerant, and not as disease resistant. Still, very delicious tomatoes and I'm certain to grow these again! I mainly blame my troubles on such high humidity, but that doesn't stop me from continuing to love this variety.
