75 days. Unique, black-colored fruit that are the shape of a Jalapeno. They are mildly hot and have a delicious flavor. The tall plants have beautiful purple flowers that make this variety very ornamental. Rare and colorful!

What are the pros? Beautiful color, fast growing

What are the cons? Flavor is good, not great.

Review:

I have grown these for the past few years. When ever anyone visits my garden they all say the same thing "Oooooo, what are those black peppers". The purple flowers are striking. These peppers are the first peppers to mature in my garden. These guys are great producers. I picked 8 this morning. I use them in a lot of things. Great for garnish, but so much fun in salsas and pico. A great plant to have at least one of in your garden. You too can have people say "Oooooo, what are those black peppers!"

What are the pros? Colour, scent, flavour

What are the cons? -

Review:

This is by far the most exciting pepper I have ever come across with - it is certainly the prettiest pepper out there, with the most enchanting scent a pepper ever had, and the fascinating colour of glossy and crunchy cherries... Not only it is gongeous to look at, but it's firmness, flavourfulness and mild heat makes it my No1 favorite! The plants are prolific, I've got 22 growing on one, 26 on the other, and counting! Would love to post some pictures, if this option was available...

What are the pros? taste great

What are the cons? slow ripening

Review:

These little guys are HOT! Maybe I am just a whimp, but I made some hot sauce with these today and I had to keep the tissues close by. The plants grew tall, and the base stem was strong. The leaves were dark green, and I had no issue with disease, fungus, or bacterial. The only complaint I had with these was they seemed to burn easily in the sun. I noticed more sunscald on these, compared to the lunchbox peppers I grew right next to them. This pepper has a lot of potential in the kitchen! I have a huge bag of them dried waiting to be used in soups, salsa, stir fry, and smoothies! Would definitely grow again

What are the pros? beautiful, easy, prolific

What are the cons? none

Review:

When all of the rest of your peppers have white flowers, these will have deep purple flowers, sometimes splashed with white. VERY PRETTY. Then come dozens of deep purple/black peppers that if left on the plant to mature will yield about 40 peppers, but if plucked as needed or regularly, your harvest will double. They are like a smokey jalapeno, maybe a little hotter, but some say less. They have been described as very intense at first, but then really mellow out quickly. Might depend on your growing season/water/level of maturity. They end up a beautiful deep red and keep for months. I have grown these for years and will continue to grow. They are definitely unique, beautiful and make a very pretty pico de gallo or salsa.

What are the pros? Beautiful, produces lots

What are the cons? Some mild others burn!

Review:

I tried these this year and love them they are so unique, beautiful purple flowers and dark purple to black peppers that can ripen to red. Each plant produced tons of peppers which were about jalape?o sized. Easy to grow, fast growing.
