What are the pros? Flavor, Matured in the North
What are the cons? Mice and deer like them, too
I've never grown a watermelon this far north but had amazing success with this variety. I started one indoors in my Aerogarden in April and moving to the greenhouse in May and then the garden in June. The vine was vigorous and produced many small fruits. Unfortunately, most were eaten by some uninvited visitor of the 4 legged variety. The two melons that did grow to maturity were out of this world! They were so packed with flavor and juice that the kids and I stood in the kitchen in amazement. Never in my life have I tasted a watermelon this good. I will be planting several more vines in 2014!
