What are the pros? Grows well in the heat

What are the cons? none

Review:

This was my first time growing watermelon. This melon was easy to grow, My very first melon weighed 25.9 pounds. It was a beautiful looking watermelon and tasted excellent. The seed information said it would get to 8 to 12 pounds, well let me tell you it far out weighed that. My wife and I are in our mid sixties and wanted a smaller melon for us to handle, so much for that idea. I would recommend this melon to any body that wants to try growing watermelon.

Review:

This was my first time growing watermelons and I thought I'd try this one first. I gave the seeds a head start indoors in a manure compost pot a few weeks before last frost. At that time I set up their planting spot and covered it with mulch, then clear plastic to warm the soil. Come planting time (end of April) i kept the transplants covered in a home made tiny greenhouse, uncovered during rain and very warm days. I removed the 18"x24" greenhouse about a month later when they outgrew it. Now I know nothing about proper watering or harvesting, but with minimal watering I got well over 10 melons between TWO plants! I am growing this along with a couple other heirloom varieties next year the same way and I hope for even better success with some more educating!

Review:

This watermelon was such a pleasant surprise. It is difficult to grow watermelon here in the NW where we are located, but we planted these seeds in our garden and received 5 beautiful melons! They were so sweet and full of flavor... will plant again next year for sure!

Review:

I've never had much luck with watermelon before, but these worked for me. My 3-year-old is my little helper in the garden. He was excited about these and picked one before it was ripe. I was worried he would be disappointed, but it tasted pretty sweet, considering. The ones that were actually ripe when we picked them tasted great and didn't have a lot of seeds. Very nice!

Review:

I'm sorry to say that i've never grown this variety from baker creek, but we bought one of this variety at a farm nearby. I used to not care for watermelon, but i wanted to get over my pickiness this year, which is why we bought one. If only this had been the first watermelon i'd ever tasted!!!!! If it had, i probably would've loved watermelon all my life!! Long story short, darker rinds and redder flesh make for an extremely tasty watermelon! I can't wait until these come back in stock!
