50 days. The old standard since 1925, does better in hot weather than most. Glossy, deep green, delicious leaves.

What are the pros? Thrives in cold weather

What are the cons? Can be picky

Review:

The first year we tried to grow this we gave it too much sun and too much attention. When winter was approaching we said 'forget it' and left it to fend on its own. To our amazment this spinach was not only alive, but thriving and happy in the cold, wet winter. It grew along a north wall in crappy coil and that was apparently what it liked!

What are the pros? Taste

What are the cons? None

Review:

Planted way late but due to a mild winter, so far, we have had plenty of spinach. Great taste, easy to grow and just keeps on producing. Hope it makes it through this winter without any hitches. The mild weather has kept it from bolting, highs have been no greater than 84 degrees. Will order again.

What are the pros? Bolt resistant, delicious

What are the cons? As spinach goes, none

Review:

I'm a grouch about spinach. I love it, but it bolts if you look at it funny and I usually don't get enough off a plant to make it really worth growing. I'd totally given up on the stuff till a couple starry eyed beginners I was gardening with insisted we give it a try. I grumblingly chose Bloomsdale Long Standing (more or less at random) and was shocked to find myself more than supplied with a weekly reoccurring supply of large, flavorful leaves for the majority of the spring. It's still spinach, so it does bolt before anything else in the garden does, but not before making it worth your wile.

What are the pros? Color and flavor

What are the cons? Bolts in the heat

Review:

I have grown this spinach for years. It will bolt in high heat. It is one of my first planets that I set out in the spring. If I harvest early I have no problems. I replant in late summer. It is also one of my last to harvest in the fall. Don't change a thing. Love this.

What are the pros? Flavor and texture

What are the cons? .

Review:

This is my favorite spinach. It did so much better than the hybrid types I have tried before I found this one. This is the standard leave shape and texture that I like. The hybrids came out all jagged and thick leaved. Grew this during the winter and it did fine in zone 9, early spring the bugs liked to munch on it so I used diatomaceous earth.
