Review:

This pea grew well as a first planting phase and as a secondary/replacement planter. I grew them in harsh rocky and sandy soil and they loved it. I also grew them in moist organic matter rich soil and they did well also. We froze, saved, dried, and canned all that we grew in 2012. The plants lasted into last fall early winter and were still producing until a good frost. I compare all my peas to brown crowders and this one did well (but did not outpace the brown crowders) These peas did well against weeds and insects also. For the price you should give it a try. I have great success with my planting method ... which is like square foot. I till the ground then while kneeling I spread the seeds in a pattern I can reach. Then I move over and plant again.

Review:

I grew this pea for the first time this season. It did very well-survived a droughty summer, producing well. Then during a week of heavy rain, it revived and started producing all over again. A good pea - no complaints. I did have a worm problem-didn't catch it soon enough and a dozen little white worms were ravishing my seed stash-my fault. Check carefully for worms before saving for seed. Will be a regular in my garden. Strong, hardy 3' plant.

Review:

Nice flavor and a really nice climbing pole crowder. I find it hard to find a good climbing cowpea that will climb on its on and this one did a great job and in my garden it was over 3' as stated.. it held up well in the Tucson, Az sun and came on like gangbusters with the monsoon season. It is a nice size for a cowpea and we both shelled and dried them for use. They shell well and don't have to fight with them in their long pods. Overall I will be growing them again.
