A high producing heirloom that was introduced in 1931. Flame-red, smooth, globe-shaped fruit are very uniform and beautiful, perfect for marketing. Heirloom tomato expert, Dr. Carolyn Male, calls it "A workhorse of a tomato." The flavor is rich and tangy, great for canning.

Review:

This is a great tomato. It was my father's favorite and as a kid, I would always have a tomato and mayo sandwich as an afternoon snack when they were in season. Loved the taste. Highly recommended as it grows well (at least in my area) and is very productive besides having great taste.

Review:

This is the only tomato my father would grow when I was a child in WV. A great, all purpose tomato. Resembles Celebrity in size, shape, and home use. Seeds are not easily found but worth the search.

Review:

I'd heard that these plants only got three feet tall. Not so (in my garden anyway). They're easily five feet tall and loaded with fruit. 'Will grow again.

Review:

I've grown these for two years now and they have performed fantastically. The first year my plants got blight except the Break o' Days and they produced well. The second year there was a huge aphid invasion and once again all the other tomato varieties but this one were severly affected. I live on the high plains of Colorado at 6000ft elevation where extreme weather is a given so it is hard to get much to grow here at times. Break o' day will be a permanent feature in my garden!
