40-50 days, leaf-type. Also known as Bronze Arrowhead. All-America Award winner for 1947, the year it was introduced by Germania Seed Company. Super-sweet leaves are blushed with medium bronze, mainly around the wavy leaf margins. Heat tolerant and slow to bolt. Spectacular and flavorful!

What are the pros? attractive leavess and colors

What are the cons? doesn't taste good

Review:

I'm on the Southern California Coast and I've grown Bronze Beauty Lettuce for the past two years. I was disappointed the first time around, but I gave it another chance. It has a bitter, unpleasant flavor even when the plant is very young.

What are the pros? Flavor, regrowth

Review:

Good tasting lettuce that did not become bitter as spring grew warm. A nice looking lettuce as well. The lettuce regrows nicely after cutting leaves for continual harvest for a number of weeks.

Review:

This is by far the best tasting lettuce we have ever eaten. In Feb. set some plants from greenhouse in a cold frame and planted some under row cover. All were delicious until it warmed to 70's. Have some growing in the fall garden. Everyone that tasted this one was delighted.

Review:

Planted this lettuce in a large container in early spring. The rain kind of pushed large amounts of seed together, but the leaves harvested were probably the best lettuce I've ever grown! I was able to cut an inch or two above the base and the lettuce keeps coming back.
