What are the pros? Easy to Grow
What are the cons? None
I grew a small plot of this in my poor mostly unamended clay soil. It did great, attracted tons of pollinating bugs- I've never known so many different kinds existed! It was a-buzz with activity when the flowers bloomed. Produced alot and great for the soil! Will always grow some now and you grind the hulled seeds and make flour! Chickens and birds also love the seeds

This is an excellent cover crop that grows quickly in most soils. I've used it throughout summers in unused garden areas, alongside other crops, as a mulch producer, to harvest the grain, and to attract bees. It's been excellent for all of those purposes, and if you let some go to seed it will reseed decently on its own.
