What are the pros? prolific, low-maintenance
What are the cons? difficult to hull
I tried these as my first attempt at backyard grains. I planted them in a bed with mediocre soil and most of the plants thrived. The white flowers are beautiful and pollinator insects LOVED them. They are easy to process up until hulling. Without a hulling machine it is nearly impossible to remove the hulls and leave the kernel whole. makes good flour though.
