What are the pros? Produces all season, into fall

What are the cons? Smaller central head

Review:

I have grown this heirloom for years in New Hampshire, and in Montana. No matter whether acidic, moist rich loam or alkaline dry clay, it consistently produces reasonably early with a 6" central head, then shoots side sprouts all the rest of the season, past frost, getting tastier as it goes! The side shoots are good-sized for cooking or salads and delicious! They come so fast, it is hard to keep ahead of them from bolting. I love that I don't have to succession plant to have a continual supply of delicious broccoli all season long. It is carefree, except for cabbage worms... Suggest floating row cover, or occasional sprinkling of wood ash.

What are the pros? none

What are the cons? did not produce a head

Review:

I decided to switch to heirloom seeds from hybrid seeds and seedlings this year to begin learning how to seed save. I tried 2 rounds of this broccoli, early spring and again in fall, totaling more that 40 plants. The plants grew strong and healthy, but never produced more than a 1 inch head if any at all. I was looking forward to freezing broccoli this year, and I have none. Very disappointing.

What are the pros? Strong plants

What are the cons? Small heads, very few sides

Review:

These came up great, strong plants with no problems- That's where my enjoyment ends. Most of the plants made a central head less than 5". The side shoots are very tiny, IF I get any at all. These take a huge amount of space in the garden and put out very little edible parts.

What are the pros? None

What are the cons? Didn't form heads

Review:

These plants grew great from early-start seedlings, but didn't form any heads at all. That was not the results I was hoping for. We're in zone 5.

What are the pros? Seeds sprouted quickly

What are the cons? Heads never formed

Review:

I had very poor results with this variety last summer. After the seeds sprouted just fine and I transplanted the healthy seedlings to my garden, the plants grew nice and strong to ~ 2 1/2 - 3 ft. However, I can't begin to describe how disappointed I was that they never formed any heads. That's never happened to me with broccoli before, and it was the first time I planted this variety.
