70 days. An old standard variety; vigorous, high-yielding vines.
Thomas Jefferson grew Blackeye Peas in the 1770’s. Originating in Africa, cowpeas are easy to grow and are very popular in the South. A very ancient crop.

What are the pros? early producer
What are the cons? nothing
I planted these the middle to end of June & they have been producing in less than 60 days. That is just crazy!!! I have them in raised beds and mulched. They stand up great! I love the flavor and they are very easy to shell. I hadn't seen black-eyed peas this big before.

Great yields on this one. Californias are pretty a common cowpea. One of the most farmed type. I can see why. We've been having 100 degree weather and they're still producing. Excellent summer crop.
