These are beautiful plants that handle summers in Ohio quite well with regular watering. They're so easy to grow that all I had to do was throw a handful of seeds into the dirt and water and within a month I had a corner flower bed full of gorgeous plants. (Which is wonderful since I have limited space for starting seedlings indoors.) They don't flower until later in the summer, but the stems and leaves are beautiful in their own right, and this mix has a variety of red and green stems. The seed pods are fun as well since when ripe they spring open when touched. (Balsam is also known as Touch-Me-Nots.)
