What are the pros? Juicy stems

I start the seedlings indoors and transplant outside. Fast growing, juicy stems. Great for Stir-fries. It grows well in hot weather....even over 95 degrees F.

What are the pros? Nothing

What are the cons? Bolts immediately

Review:

I grew this last summer (2014) because I had heard that this Bok Choy wouldn't bolt as fast as the other varieties I've tried, but this bolted almost as soon as it started growing, and last summer was unusually cool so I hate to think how it would have faired in a normal warm summer. I have officially given up on trying to grow Bok Choy.

Review:

Grew these this spring and did not get a very good turn out but I let them go to seed. I collected the seeds and tossed them back out into my garden in mid-August. Now I have an excellent crop. Either I planted them too early in the spring or I was too fussy in my planting. In August I tossed them into cleared bed, wracked the soil and then forgot about them. I planted radishes around the outside to keep the rabbits away. In a short while they came up and now I have a thick patch of them.

Review:

Here in San Jose, this makes a nice, quick crop even in the heat of summer. I planted a row in the first week of August and am harvesting it 30 days later. The stalks are juicy and the leaves are tender, with a sturdy flavor. I sowed it with a foot between rows but it looks like it could easily take half of that.

This one has been simple, hardy and very tasty. My daughter actually asks for it as an afternoon snack!
