110 days. A quality Casaba type. In 1927 Burrell's said it was the finest of Casabas: very sweet white flesh, tough golden rind, and a good keeper; can be stored well into the winter!

Review:

I had never grown these before, or tasted them. It seems like we only got a few melons off the vines, and hopefully next time there are more. We picked them in the middle of November, as we were worried that frost might be coming soon. When we finally got around to trying it in mid-December, it was still delicious. It had just been sitting on our kitchen table for a month or so. Wonderful sweet flavor. I think it has earned itself a permanent place in our garden.

Review:

I wanted this melon badly since I saw it. I bought the seeds two years ago but it was a bit late in 2009 when I put them into the ground at last (late-June) and they were bland at best. But as I said it might be the late planting that year.On the other hand in 2010 this melon disappointed me again. Everything seemed fine until I opened the fruit. Well, even then the nice, creamy white flesh seemed jummy - until it touched my palate. I hate to say this but it was the blandest melon I ever tasted. And I don't know why. I tried several other heirloom melons and watermelons in this year and all performed better than this one.

The sweet smell is worth it in itself- aromatherapy at its best
