80 days This popular favorite originated in southern Russia's Caspian Sea region. Incredibly sweet and juicy fruit often reach 1 pound, and occasionally larger. Called by some "The Queen of the Pinks," this one always does well in taste tests, occasionally surpassing Brandywine. Like most Russian types, does best in cooler conditions.

What are the pros? Very Sweet, Awesome taste

What are the cons? Least vigorous variety, Blight

Review:

Zone 4 - We grew several varieties this year and the Pink Caspian tomatoes were the least vigorous plants from the get-go. We had an awesome tomato year, and this was the only variety that was really affected by early blight. The plants were weak, yellowed, and produced minimal fruit. The fruit it did produce, though, was by far the tastiest. Unfortunately, it just could not compete with the Gold Medal and Brandywine tomato plants. Will not grow again.

zone 6 -- very good in terms of flavor, a nice largish-medium size, only moderate production. I would grow it again for the flavor, but not rely on it for main crop production.

This was the best tasting tomato I grew this year. Very, very sweet and yummy. Unfortunately it did not produce as well as the other varieties I planted (otherwise they would have 5 stars), but those I had I kept out of the canner. I couldn't bare to can them when I could eat them right there and then!

This beauty produced loads of 12-24 oz big pink fruits. The vines were HUGE and absolutely loaded! These babies needed one slice on a burger and it was completely covered with amazing flavor!
