What are the pros? Beautiful Color, Fragrant

What are the cons? None

Review:

Started these indoors 1-3 in jiffy peat pellets on a heated floor came up on 1/7-14. Put them under shop lights with day length bulbs. When seedlings start getting their true leaves I started feeding them with miracle gro all purpose food 1/4 tsp to 1 gallon of water once a week. As soon as roots where coming out of the bottom of the peat pellets I transplanted them on 1-18 to their permanent container. Continued to grow them under the shop lights keeping the lights as close to the plants as possible but never allowing the plants to touch the lights as this would damage the foliage. On 3-23 they set buds to bloom and on 4-25 the blooms opened indoors under the lights. The flowers are beautiful! They are a light pink with a fragrance! The stems seem to be strong. I didn't take them outside yet but I would recommend giving the stems support outside due to wind and rain. Highly recommend them! I do continue to feed mine with a bayer rose & flower food 3 in 1 every 6 weeks.

What are the pros? pretty flower, lovely scent

What are the cons? won't grow upright

Review:

I'm not sure why but mine won't grow sturdy stems; however, otherwise they grow fine in partial sun, dry desert heat. Actually they survived the hot, humid monsoon season as well. This is the second season for them so I'm hoping they get a little more sturdy this year.

What are the pros? Super fragrant!

What are the cons? Does'n take the heat.

Review:

These carnations were really easy to grow from seed, they have an amazing, strong cove-like scent and a lovely pink color. They, however, do NOT tolerate heat very well.I got mine planted a little to late and the Georgia summer wiped out all but one plant,I am going to try growing them in cooler weather and see if they do better.

These germinated and grew well. The flowers are a lovely color of pink and have a lovely, strong clove scent!I got them planted to late though and the heat killed all but one,I'm going to try growing them during the cooler weather and I think they will do a lot better. All in all it is a lovely flower and it bloomed from seed very well.
