We ordered Black Diamond Yellow Flesh in 2011 and Charleston Grey's grew from the seeds. I know they were Charleston Grey's because we have grown this variety before and recognize it. The rind is a distinctive light color with slightly darker netting or striping. Hard to describe but easy to recognize... not exactly like the painting above. They grow well in South Louisiana. No bug problems. Love the heat. Get really big... I bet the heaviest one we got this year was 45 lbs or more. 3 or so melons per vine. Tasty. Not overly sweet. A distinct flavor... not the pale watery flavor of store-bought crap. I make watermelon juice out of them because they have such a flavor (blend and strain the flesh... needs a little sugar and lime juice for zing). We use these rinds to make watermelon rind preserves. You should try that if you have not.
