Lovely, lavender-pink-shaded pods measure 12”-18” long and are crisp and flavorful. The vigorous vines produce loads of tender Chinese beans. Very popular here at Baker Creek and sure to become a favorite of gourmets everywhere! A real standout that is quick to come into production.

What are the pros? Interesting and very flavorful

What are the cons? None

Review:

The plants grew very fast, even though my soil was to heavy. I love these picked a little early for salads. Cooked they are amazing. I'm a first time Gardner and these are very easy. They give you a huge crop. I could not imagine how great the crop would be if it was planted by someone who knew what they were doing. Your yield would be unbelievable. I have had no bug issues with any of my beans. None at all.

Review:

The beans in the picture are not the beans growing in my garden. My beans are not LONG and they are not RED. They are green with a red stripe. They taste good ... but not the kind of bean that I expected.

Review:

Tender & delicious. And tender! My favorite way to prepare is sauteed and then sprinkled with sesame oil & toasted sesame seeds. We grew these in an Earth Box. Black ants perched on the stems - they did not care about the beans, but loved eating the sap from the plant. We did not bother them and they did not bother us. It was really strange. I didn't even know my husband liked green beans, but he liked the heck out of these. The description was accurate as to length, which was cool. Pick when dark purple. If you wait too long (once they start getting light colored), they lose their juiciness and become more like foam.
