45 days--Very large spring radish, great in salads, relish trays and more. Roots are round, deep crimson outside, crisp and snow-white within. Reaches to 4-5" in diameter without getting hollow, pithy or hot. This very choice variety has been around for at least a century.

Review:

Awesome great-growing radish! Even the huge ones--and some we let get to be medium-small potato sized! were still as good as when they were smaller. We enjoy the slightly less firey flavorful taste of this variety. The large ones we cut into chunks and used in soups and stews. They stored well in our refrigerator literally months in a moist container. A multi-purpose useful radish great in salads--and beyond!

Review:

We guarantee it's probably the best radish ever grown! We'd almost given up on radishes, both home & commercially grown, until we found Crimson Giant. For starters, we planted in late March, & fortunately planted the entire package. This radish has a wonderful spring taste, fresh, crisp, tangy. It kept getting larger & larger as the summer went on, but honestly, did NOT become pithy until well into September!! Six months!! The seeds germinated wonderfully, & grew fast enough that instead of composting the thinnings, we ate them! Their size was like a smallish Cherry Belle at that stage. We started giving them away for fear they would get so large they'd become hollow, woody & pithy but they never did! Our beds are raised, 3 concrete/cinder blocks high with a soil of old horse manure, dirt & leaves. Garden greens compost in the beds overwinter, then covered w/black plastic & viola! Crimsom Giant beat ALL veggies. You cannot go wrong w/this radish, we promise!!
