60-65 days. Romaine type. Large, succulent, mint-green outer leaves surround crystal-white hearts: mild, sweet and crunchy in flavor. Succulent heads to 10 inches in height are a standout in the salad garden.

What are the pros? beautiful, large, tough

What are the cons? slow to germinate

Review:

I love this lettuce! Makes large (12-14" x 8") heads. Huge! Slow to bolt, tastes great, firm leaves. One drawback, seeds are always the last to germinate and sprouts seem weak at first. But give it time and you will be impressed.

What are the pros? pest free, easy to grow, flavor

What are the cons? none

Review:

This lettuce grows so well, even in southern California! We are able to grow it successfully in early spring, and even more successfully all throughout our fall and winter. Never once have we seen any signs of pest or disease presence or damage. I recommend this variety to anyone that loves crispy lettuce. It goes great on salads and adds a nice crunch to sandwiches. Its also sturdy and large enough to use as lettuce tortillas to make lettuce taco wraps, yum!

What are the pros? Flavor, slow to bolt, crunchy

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew four Baker Creek romaine-type lettuces last year, and the Crisp Mint was by far my favorite. The others tasted great, but were fragile and would wilt within hours of cutting. This variety was the crunchiest, hardiest one, and still just as great-tasting as the others. The slightly frilly edges and bright green color looked beautiful as well, and it was surprisingly slow to bolt and still tasted good very late into the season.
