What are the pros? taste
What are the cons? slow initial growth
LOVED this one. It took a while to get it started, but once it started to produce (about mid July - September and still going into October), we've been enjoying these. MUST slice off the stem end and RUB in circular motion until it starts to froth and then trim off the next slice to REMOVE BITTERNESS = whats left is juicy, sweet, delectable with a bit of sea salt...it's a morning drinker and like plenty of water we've been harvesting it on and off in the early summer time and just finished harvesting about 35 pounds now in September!!! (That's after planting in 2 very small sections of our garden (each about 2 X 1 foot sections)it vines very nicely, so if you plant it, set up a vining wall for it to grow onto, it will also spread like any cucumber/squashy type plant.
