65 days. Very rare romaine type with upright, rounded leaves, applegreen in the center and pink-to-bronze outside. Tender and sweet, holds well in the garden, and is one of the last to become bitter. A good choice for early spring or fall gardens, as it tolerates cool temperatures very well. Makes a lovely salad! From Switzerland.

What are the pros? Takes some heat, consistent
What are the cons? none
One of our favorites - a beautiful romaine whose bronze and apple green leaves look nice planted in a bed of green and red lettuces. Large plants are some of the last to become bitter in the summer. Leaves are more tender than normal romaine but strong enough. One of our most consistent producers.

This lettuce is some of the most interesting that I've bought. The young lettuce grows entirely green, but as it matures into a head it develops a homogenous speckling of red throughout the leaves; harvest before it's deep pink.Excellent as a head lettuce, but don't sow too tightly. These heads come in wider (almost oval if looked at from the side) than they are tall.Good flavor, and it grows almost year-round.
