(Nigella papillosa) A mix of pastel to true Delft blue, the color range is reminiscent of the Dutch pottery style of its namesake. Stunningly beautiful! (All parts of this plant are toxic and should not be taken internally.)

What are the pros? Pretty, Unique

What are the cons? None

Review:

I really like this! I direct sow these in the fall, they over winter, and then bloom in the spring. They also grow well from a spring planting. The colors/shape of these is so unique and unusual (in a good way). I'll definitely be planting these again! If you want to see what they look like growing in my garden, you can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXtnZskubrI

What are the cons? none

Review:

Planted the seeds on south west side of yard. They took off like rockets! I especially enjoy these delightful flowers when they go to seed.

What are the pros? Beautiful

What are the cons? slow to germinate

Review:

Like the description says, these flowers are stunningly beautiful. However, I found they weren't the easiest to grow. The seeds are small and seemed to be the slowest to germinate in my garden. The plants also grew slowly at first before eventually taking off. When they bloomed they were stunning, though they aren't a repeat bloomer. I'll grow these again simple because they are so beautiful.
