What are the pros? Great tasting cucumber

What are the cons? Not resistant to wilt

Review:

These are great tasting cucumbers, both pickled and sliced. Even when they grow to be very large they aren't bitter. I have grown them for 2 years and both years they produced for maybe two weeks and then died completely due to some kind of powdery mildew or wilt. I will admit that last year we had near monsoon like rains and this year my chickens scratched around and damaged some of the vines which made them more susceptible. I will be trying a new variety next year. Maybe the deep south with very hot and humid conditions isn't a good place for these.

What are the pros? Great for pickles

What are the cons? None

Review:

I like these a lot. They seem to be producing very well for me, as long as they get enough water. The taste is sweet, delicate, buttery. They are very pretty as well. We pickle them and eat them fresh.

What are the pros? great flavor and appearance

What are the cons? not a super heavy producer

Review:

Best looking cukes I've ever produced. They're beautiful to look at. Taste is on par with overall appearance aw well. Almost act like a determinate or semi determinate plant so I have found it best to compost the plants down in June and reseed for fall/summer garden. If space is limited then a heavier producing variety might better suite the grower. however, if you have room for more than one variety of cukes, then don't pass these up! THEY ARE AWESOME!

What are the pros? Grew well

What are the cons? Bitter, misshapen, too large

Review:

Every year I try another pickling variety instead of Boston Pickling, and every year I wish I had just grown the Bostons again. These started out promising, grew well and the first few cukes came off the perfect size for pickling whole, but after a few weeks the vines weren't producing that many and the ones that did grow were horribly misshapen. Four out of five were either pinched in the middle with an hourglass shape or grew round like an plum so they were useless for pickling. If I left them on the plant a few days longer hoping they would fill out in the middle, then they grew too big and were useless. Most of them were simply too big or oddly shaped to even fit in a quart jar. Overall too bitter for fresh eating so it seemed like a lot of these were wasted. Sadly I have a lot of the seeds left since they were 2 for 1 when I bought them at the Petaluma store.

What are the pros? crunchy and delicious

What are the cons? none

Review:

I have some straight eights in my garden that crowded this plant out. I didn't get many cukes from it but the ones I did get were the most delicious cucumber I've ever had raw. The skin is thin and the rest is so crisp and crunchy. It's got a nice cucumber flavor and they are not very bitter. I'm growing all delikatesse next year.
