What are the pros? Taste, size, crispness

What are the cons? none

Review:

In all transparency, I haven't grown these myself. I did however buy them every week they were available from my local farmer who lives in the desert of Lancaster, CA who sells produce in Los Angeles. He says they are very drought tolerant, loved cow manure, and the coyotes would steal them at night. They became available at the market around late July-October grown in that region. These are large, pale rinded melons that are delicious. Very juicy yellow/golden flesh with a fair amount black and brown mottled seeds. The taste is mild compared to an Orangeglo, but still delicious and better than supermarket melons. Taste is very reminiscent of what might be a very sweet Armenian melon, its fresh tasting for sure. I will grow them this year and review growing conditions for Los Angeles as I saved seeds from my melons.

Review:

I was surprised to get two very large Desert King Watermelons during early fall here in El Paso, TX. Personally one of the best tasting watermelon I've had so far. The flavor reminds me of a cross between watermelon and honeydew/cantaloupe. I noticed that fruiting occurred later in Early September and October, when the extreme heat started to drop here in the El Paso, TX area. I will definitely sow these again in the late summer to early fall, again.

Review:

Watermelon has amazing test and amazing germination I lost all my seed from former years and plenty of volunteer melons came up from past years. Grows over 20 pounds and closer to 40 or 50 when given the right space and water.

Excellent germination, every sigle seed sprouted (55x). Grows very well in warm sunny weather of Aruba. Will keep posted on how many watermelons it produces.

Review:

Robust and easy to grow strong vine in bad soil, vine doesn't wilt in 115 degree heat with full sun. Very happy with this variety--this is what I buy heirlooms for! So crisp and strong shell and sweet! Nice orange.
