75 days A large pink beefsteak variety that reaches 1-1 1/2 pounds. Its rich sweet flavor makes it an excellent slicer. The seed came to us from an Amish lady just a few miles from our Baker Creek farm. Anna worked as a house cleaner for Dr. Dester and his wife in Indiana in the 1970's. Having acquired the seed from Germany, the Desters shared their favorite tomato seed with Anna, who treasured it and now shares it with us. One of our best tasting tomatoes.

What are the pros? Huge

What are the cons? None

Review:

Got starter plant from a local neighborhood grower. Huge pinkish tomatoes and massive plant, go for overkill when planning for how to stake the plant as it grows. I had to really dig thru stems and leaves to even find the plant tag because I went nuts on tomato plants this year so I planted all over my property in raised beds and didn't take good notes on what was where. Only issue I have is that the squirrels and mice seem to love it and get to some before I spot it in the massive growth. That's my fault - the tomatoes are ripe before they get to where the tomato is all the same pink top to bottom and it's like a jungle when I go to pick tomatoes from my beds. I did capture a couple before they were partially eaten, they were good tasting. Salvaged a half-eaten one today that I'll put in the bank by saving the seeds. Tomatoes started to ripen here at 5800' altitude around beginning of Sept. Good heirloom, also had no cracking.
