(Anethum graveolens) Early to flower with large seed heads. Excellent in pickles and used to flavor many other foods. Easy to grow.

What are the pros? Easy to grow

What are the cons? Aphids

Review:

This dill grows fast and it looks great! I had a problem with aphids attacking it last year, but so far this year it looks really healthy. I added a lot of compost so that could be why.

What are the pros? Grows like mad, butterflies

What are the cons? none

Review:

Love this dill! I got the packet to plant last year and it seemed like all of it came up and did great despite our extreme heat (100-110F). Reseeds itself eagerly and I have volunteer dill coming up everywhere this year, which is great because I really planted it for the black swallowtail butterflies. It has a good, strong taste though and is great for my pickles and on fish. Despite the seed being a few eyars

Review:

It smells so good to pick this in the garden and add it to a fresh vinagrette with salad from the garden-perfecto! It bolted a little fast before I had finished picking some for dehydrating before allowing to go to seed for pickling, but I'll work on that this year-I"m no expert-but hardy and good for growing in zone 3.
