75 days. Lusicous, small 2-3 lb., green fleshed melons are bursting with sweetness. This was a famous melon at the turn of the 20th century and was introduced by T.W. Woods & Sons of Richmond, Virginia, in 1895. Pick just before the melons freely slip from the vines for best flavor. This is a great variety to add to your home garden or market stand; heavy yields.

What are the pros? Productive, great flavor

What are the cons? None

Review:

Not sure why the negative reviews, but I had great luck with this melon. I picked them ripe (when easily fell off vine) and found them sweet and delicious. Will definitely grow again.

What are the pros? Productive, but...

What are the cons? Mildly sweet, soapy taste

Review:

These melons were quite productive and stood up to powdery mildew as long as I kept them sprayed with neem. Their taste is quite disappointing, though. They were slightly sweet, but I found they had a soapy taste. I've tried several of them now, and am done with them. What's left on the vine is going into the compost.

What are the pros? It is productive

What are the cons? Mature melons are very bland

Review:

The first one I ate was very good and sweet. Green inside. But the next 14 I picked got riper and white inside and lost all their flavor. I think you want to pick this one before it turns ripe looking. They are fragrant but don't taste near as good as they smell.

What are the cons? no complaints here

Review:

I was a little concerned at the other reviews. Mine are sweet though. Not bland at all. Love this melon and have several on two plants.

What are the pros? Grew well

What are the cons? Flavor was very bland

Review:

I you are looking for something to just grow and not eat, then get this melon. If you are looking for flavor, do not get this melon.
