What are the pros? Taste, Appearance, Early

What are the cons? None

Review:

This was the first watermelon that I grew on my own. It was the sweetest and juiciest watermelon I've ever tasted, and I loved the bright yellow flesh. I grew it in a 5 gallon pot and it produced 2 watermelons, one ~3lbs and another that is still on the plant and appears to be ~6lbs. I trellised the watermelon plant on my fence. The plant was free of pest/disease even when the other "melon" plants I grew nearby succumbed to powdery mildew and a caterpillar infestation. Planted seeds on 2/13, germinated in 13 days on 2/25, transplanted watermelon seedling with 4 true leaves from a 0.5 gal to 5 gal pot on 3/16, male flowers began opening on 4/1, First pollinated watermelon on 4/29, picked first watermelon on 6/2 when tendril dried up. I highly recommend this variety.

Good for short summer and rainy end of season. It is one of best yellow varieties. It still has sweetness when other yellow watermelons are tasteless after rain.

What are the pros? easy grower, prolific

What are the cons? none

Review:

The seeds were very easy to germinate and plants are healthy, fast growers. Each plant set several fruit which grew to a size between a softball and a small soccer ball. The flesh was tender and sweet with a very mild flavor. Though the flavor was quite mild, they are still very refreshing and enjoyable to eat. I will definitely grow these again due to their ease and high fruit set rate.

What are the pros? Super germination rate

What are the cons? None

Review:

I seeded these recently. I used a heat mat under them. I was surprised to have almost all of them come up after just three days. I ended up with 100% germination. This is my first time growing Early Moonbeam but I have grown Yellow Doll in the past. If they grow and taste anything like them, I will be super pleased. I will write an update at the end of the season.

Review:

I have grown Early Moonbeam for a number of years. It is my favorite watermelon for my northern garden. I have had a good crop every year, with almost all fruit ripening before frost. I have had no diseases at all.
