80 days. The fruit are a lovely yellow color, being the shape, size and color of an egg yolk. A tantalizing taste treat just bursting with rich, fruity flavor and all of summer's sweetness. The extra-long vines really amazed us with their productiveness. Developed by Larry Pierce from a sport he found growing in his garden.

What are the pros? unstoppable!

What are the cons? none

Review:

Oh my god, I wasn't expecting this. The Egg Yolk Tomato produced I don't know how many - maybe a thousand? - tomatoes last summer. They taste great. I ate them with breakfast, lunch and dinner. They were our favorite variety.

What are the pros? Good yields, attractive yellow

What are the cons? Flavor

Review:

These tomatoes grew well for me and provided great yields. However, of all the varieties I grew, I liked the flavor of these the least.

What are the pros? Very Prolific!

What are the cons? Not true to variety

Review:

Tomatoes produced were all different shades of yellow and sizes, including some which were a cream color and one plant produced an olive green/brown tomato. Not all tomatoes had a good taste. I wish they produced true to the yellow Egg Yolk tomato I had hoped for. The plus side was that there were plenty of tomatoes, so I could pick which ones I liked best!

What are the pros? Prolific

What are the cons? A lot of staking

Review:

This variety is absolutely worth growing. Planted from seed at the end of April, and got harvest in mid July here in zone 6A. Once it started to bear fruits, it just got crazy and outgrew my caging easily. Need more stakes!

What are the pros?

What are the cons?

Review:

My local garden center told me that I was starting tomato seeds "too late" by planting them in late March (indoors) and that I "would be lucky" to get much of anything out of my late plantings. However... not only is my Egg Yolk outgrowing every other varietal in my garden - including the well-established seedlings I bought - it was the first to bear fruit, and it's producing fruit like crazy! The tomatoes have a thinner skin and the flavor is distinctive.
