What are the pros? Fast-growing, compact
What are the cons? Needs lots of water to thrive
I was skeptical about this working out in my patio garden- we can only use small pots, and here at the beach in Southern California, it gets VERY hot and dry with no shade. Surprise! This year we've had rainstorms every week since early December, and the weather has been hovering around 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Perfect for the dwarf pak choy! I haven't had to water them myself in weeks and they are thriving. I did notice they respond particularly well to extra rain, so I doubt this would work every winter for us, but I'm glad I picked this year to try. Planting-to-harvest time for me is around 5-6 weeks, though I have been letting them get pretty big before harvesting. Fabulous for stir fry.
