What are the pros? Beautiful color
What are the cons? Not for containers
This salvia mix is very pretty. I had a fine color variety that bloomed pretty well. It doesn't sprout as well or grow as vigorously as some other salvias, such as the scarlet sage salvia types (which I have had incredible success with). This type can't receive as much neglect as the other type either, and grows too much for pots. But it was very nice in my garden, with nice colors in pink, salmon, maroon-white, and more. I didn't plant enough in my garden for a big pop of color, but the plants I had bloomed well, all the way up to frost. I will grow these again next year if I don't buy too many new flowers from Baker Creek (they have so many varieties to try every year!) These salvias make seeds pretty well, but not as heavily as the scarlet/Texas sage types. Recommended, but give them a richer soil and a little more care than the scarlet sage salvia types.
