What are the cons? Takes a lot of room
I adored this squash. I live in the high desert in Southern California and didn't have much hope for this since it seemed to be a cooler weather squash. It adored the heat and sun in my garden. The leaves shaded the squash from sunburn and it sprawled happily around climbing fences and producing lovely, tastey squash. The only down side was it did take over and smothered some nearby acorn squash. Given room, this should be a delight. The garden prep was basic manure, gypsum, and mulch. Watered it twice a day for fifteen min.
