PRE-ORDER GARLIC BULBS WILL SHIP AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2016
(Hardneck) In 25 years of growing garlic at Box Car Farm in Northern New Mexico, this is the biggest bulb we've seen. Sometimes mistaken for elephant garlic (which is actually a leek), Estonian Red has five or six huge cloves and is a hardneck purple stripe variety, with dark red blush streaks to its skin. Its flavor is mild, with only a hint of heat even raw. It seems to grow well in many environments , too, producing consistently big bulbs in both cold and warm climates. Originally said to come from Scandinavian countries.
