PRE-ORDER GARLIC BULBS WILL SHIP AFTER SEPTEMBER 1, 2016 (Hardneck) We started growing Sinnamahone after receiving seeds in the early 2000s from a man who lived near the Sinnamahone River in rural Pennsylvania, where he said he got the seed from a “wild haired Sannamahone Indian dude” who lived in the backwoods near there. We keep growing it because it is a beautiful Rocambole with knock-your-socks off flavor – it is a big favorite of our customers at the Santa Fe farmers' market.

Review:

We chose Sannamahone Garlic because it was sourced from a similar region to our own, here in the Appalachian Mountains of WV. We planted 2 lbs in an old raised bed without amending it in any way. we Mulched it after planting with grass clippings and straw. around march we saw the first signs of garlic breaking through and here we are in June enjoying beautiful scapes! we suspect we will harvest sometime in the next 2-3 weeks. we peaked and dug up 2 early and we were shocked at the size! I cant wait to see what happen after some more time in the ground. most stalks are an inch thick! Thanks Baker Creek for the work it takes to hunt down there rare varieties!
