Review:

This is my second year growing these. I grow around 20 different varieties of watermelon each year. This is one of my favorites. These reliably produce a good yield of melons in the 35-45 lb range. It is one of the best tasting red varieties I grow. Once ripe, it appears to keep longer in the field than most, so no fear of it instantly rotting the next day if you don't catch it. The melons tend to be much longer than other varieties, so sometimes it's necessary to cut it in half before it will fit in the refrigerator. Be prepared to dedicate at least an entire shelf to it unless you cut it up before putting it in the refrigerator. It appears to have some resistance to wilt because while I've had other varieties hit, none of these have been so far. These aren't the latest variety I've grown, but they're certainly not early either. For my location they're typically ripe around early to mid September - I typically plant the last Saturday in May. The skin becomes rough when ripe.
