What are the pros? great all-round onion
What are the cons? none
I had pretty much given up on growing onions in our area, until I found Gold Princess last year. They did great last year, but I thought it was a happy accident. I just harvested my Gold Princess onions today (July 23rd) and they are the best onions I have ever grown! 120 very nice 3" round bulbs, some bigger and only very few smaller. Not one bolted or has a big neck. I started the seeds indoors in mid. February and transplanted outside in mid. April. Last years onions stored well until January when I ran out. After trying many onion varieties with very little success, this is the only onion I will grow from now on. Can't wait to grow more next year.

What are the pros? vierous and easy
I planted these late for our area (La.) and they still did well. I've had trouble growing bulbing onions in the past but these did great.

What are the pros?
What are the cons?
I started my Golden Princess onions after Christmas indoors and put them outside mid-February. Although they initially didn't grow as fast as the short-day Red Creoles they have really had some explosive growth over the last few weeks. They absolutely look beautiful - white-yellow bulbs - full and round. For dinner I pulled one (almost as large as a baseball and it's still May) and sauteed it with a Lungo Bianco zucchini, a Straight Neck Squash and Danver Half-long carrot, in olive oil, butter with salt and pepper... my goodness! I love onions but when I cook them like this I don't eat much but with this Golden Princess' I ate every last piece. The bottom line: great germination, great growth and a taste that you can't by from a store or get out of a GMI onion. Thanks Baker Seeds... this one will always be in my garden.

I started my Golden Princess onions from seed a couple days after Christmas and transplanted in late February. Although they didn't germinate as well and initially grow as well as the short-day Red Creoles they have really exploded over the last few weeks have surpassed the Candy (Hybrid) sets my friend gave me that were significant larger when I put them both in the ground. I will give an update review when I pull some up...
