What are the pros? easy to grow, self seeds

What are the cons? time consuming to harvest

Review:

Most amazing plant in my 2016 garden. Some plants grew 9 feet high. The bronze color of the seed heads are striking. Knew they were ready for harvest when all the birds came around. The King Parrots especially loved them. Harvesting and winnowing them is a job, though. Took me days to do, but I managed 2 quarts of seed from the 15 plants that I made room for. I don't know if that's good or not, but it was good enough for me. I did try to pop them, but have yet to do so successfully. A lot of seed was blown into a nearby raised bed and they readily germinated giving me plenty of new leaves to enjoy before a light frost wiped them out. This is a magical plant to grow and everyone should try it, even once, just for the thrill of it.

What are the pros? puts on the head way faster

What are the cons? none

Review:

This puts on its seed head way way faster than any other varity, its a good month and half faster than any other varity, so about 45 plants should fill up a 5 gallon bucket full of seed, i could be wrong but that sounds about right , if you get a pound of seed per plant. Have fun and God bless

What are the pros? easy, massive, show stopper

What are the cons? none

Review:

Even though I started a little on the late side this year, after installing the raised beds, these suckers grew quickly and like Jack & the Beanstalk fast! Can't wait for them to produce the seeds. Definitely planting more and different varieties next year!

What are the pros? Gorgeous!

What are the cons? Nothing

Review:

These are so easy to grow! They required little care, grew very quickly, and were perhaps the most beautiful thing in last year's vegetable garden. The gold heads became quite huge and the edible leaves are an OK lettuce substitute, if picked very small. The plants get tall; I believe mine surpassed 6 feet.
