What are the pros? Easy to grow
What are the cons? can take over the garden
Here in Vegas, there are quite a few things that just cannot handle the summer heat to say the least. But, this variety is a huge exception. The best part is it doesn't require very robust soil, our native soil will produce this pretty well. Ask anyone who tries to garden with the soil here, it is about the worst you will find. We have been growing this for three years now, and if you want something that can handle extreme heat, this is it. It can and does produce copious amounts of seeds, so it can take over large areas. I find "volunteers" all over my backyard.
