85 days. Vigorous, compact vines produce green-fleshed 2-lb. melons at an incredible rate! This delicious sweet variety really was amazing last year. A true improvement in melons bred by Merl Neidens, a master of heritage gardening and plant selection. His varieties always receive rave reviews from our customers. Superb taste.

What are the pros? it grew

What are the cons? it didn't grow enough

Review:

I couldn't get this one to grow in my Cleveland OH garden. It remained small, and may be best suited for gardens located a bit further south.

Review:

I planted these melons last spring, I was growing them in a 16'x16' area between our grape vineyards. These melons produced wonderfully, were very sweet and juicy and easily stayed within the area I intended for them to grow. We get large quantities of rain in my area and these melons didnt split at all, a problem we have had in the past with other melons. They easily slipped from the vine when ripe and although we only planted ten plants in that small area they provided plenty of melons for our melon loving family. Our only problem was the Gopher tortoises, they loved to eat the tender tips of the vines but a cheap wire flower garden fence did the trick and kept the turtles out. I'm replanting now.

Review:

So far, this melon is exceeding my wildest expectations. I put in two plants, and they are producing melons at an alarming rate--roughly a melon a day is forming and swelling VERY rapidly within days. I'm about to harvest the first of many. This melon LOVES growing on a trellis, too, so it would be ideal for people with smaller gardens like mine. :) Extremely heat tolerant. It has been in the upper nineties for weeks and this plant has barely wilted.

Review:

Love this melon. It was by far the best producer in our unusually wet and cool summer this year (in Australia) and even in the wet conditions the melons were sweet and well flavoured. A huge producer on small vines. Great for small gardens.

Review:

We grew 12 hills of these melons in a community garden that serves 10 families. This was the best-loved melon in the summer 2010 garden. The plants were prolific, the melons were sweet and a perfect size (softball-sized at the smallest; 7" diameter at the largest). It was also relatively easy to determine ripeness: when ready to be picked, this melon develops tiny cracks around where the stem attaches. We will grow it again!
