Bright lime-green fruit have a tropical taste. This variety has round, flattened, 10-oz beefsteak-type fruit which reveal lovely, neon-colored flesh when sliced. A very rare heirloom from Moldova that has been a favorite of mine for years and one of the first green varieties I grew.

What are the pros? GREAT flavor.

What are the cons? A little late to ripen.

Review:

This is hands down one of the best tomatoes I grow. The flavor is excellent, the fruits are fairly uniform and aren't very prone to splitting. The shoulders are a little prone to cracking, but it almost never leads to rotting. These and White Tomesol are my favorites to share with people that don't know much about heirloom tomatoes. Both have outstanding flavor and are a good size for sandwiches.

What are the pros? taste, size, looks

What are the cons? late

Review:

These are beautiful large prolific plants , they taste mild and sweet just as I like them but you'll have to be patient for them to ripen because they have such big fruit.i will be planting this one next year along with super prolific Cosmonaut Volkov. Russian kinds generally grow well in Canadian cooler Summers, and with this one being warmest summer in years they still produced 13 large fruit per plant even though they droped a lot of flowers due to heat.

What are the pros? amazing flavor

What are the cons? huge plants

Review:

I will be growing these again, but there are some problems. The plants get huge (broke our wooden supports), the fruit ripens late in the season, and it's difficult to tell when the fruit is ripe. That said, these are worth waiting for. We ended up with a huge crop after most of our red tomatoes were done. Excellent fresh but they also make a wonderful soup (prettiest if mixed with firm yellow tomatoes)

What are the pros? taste

What are the cons? small size

Review:

Our tomatoes wound up on the small size for what I'd expected of this variety, but we had a weird year weather-wise, so that may be why. The taste is just amazing. Great for eating by itself or chopping into a fresh fruit salsa. Our 1 year old is positively addicted to them. We will continue to grow them.
