What are the pros? hardy and fast growing
What are the cons? none
Coastal Western Washington has a difficult climate for growing tomatoes - I usually have difficulty getting them to set fruit before October. Most don't take off until after the heat of late summer - August, September. Not so with this variety. It thrives through the coldest and rainiest weather, and the hot and dry spells.
I've tried a couple dozen different tomato varieties in the last two years. Green Moldovan has outperformed all of them. This year I started my tomato plants indoors in February, and put them out at the beginning of April. With no special care, the Green Moldovans are twice as tall and twice and bushy as all the other tomato starts. They weathered many spring storms with no trouble, and do well in patio containers.
The green tomatoes are a hit, too, with my friends and neighbors asking for more every year.
