What are the pros? Delicious. Prolific. Self seed
What are the cons? Flea beetles spawn in the leav
The thing you have to understand about ground cherries and Aunt Mollies G.C. is that they are slow to germinate. The first year I tried to grow them I threw them away because I didn't think they would ever germinate. Good thing I threw them in the garden. They are wonderful but come up late so in Northern climates like mine it is good to get them growing early because it takes them some time to ripen. Much slower than other tomatillos or tomatoes. But they are delicious. Eating them from the vine, canning them for preserves. They also self-seed so once you grow them for a few years you'll have to pull out the babies otherwise you'll have a garden full of ground cherries.
