Review:

These seeds make a fine-leaved, fern-like plant with tiny, delicate flowers. The plants are about 8 inches tall and maybe 8 inches in diameter. Even on very hot, dry days, I can run my hand through the tiny leaves and feel dampness on my fingers. They appear to aspirate water to some degree. Early on, I did lose several plants before realizing I was overwatering them. Small pink flowers formed small green pods along the branches, about 6-7 per limb, so approximately 18-20 pods per plant maybe? These pods felt quite empty for several weeks. Yesterday (July 4) I checked them and all the pods were firm and filled with one green chickpea per pod. The chickpeas taste wonderfully fresh and are firm. I harvested off the patch and rinsed them, then put them on a screen to dry out somewhat and plan on shelling them today. I would love to plant these in a flower bed next spring. They were a bit fussy regarding amount of moisture but worth growing. I will definitely grow them again.

Review:

I started this from seed under lights so I could get it in before the heat, heavy rains and humidity arrived here. It has done very well so far but I have been unable to find much in the way of information about what it should look like when it's ready for harvest. I kept thinking it needed to be larger before I picked the little pods and am noticing that some of them seem to be turning black in the pods. Any info about this plant would be very helpful! The color of the beans is a lovely green and the plant is lovely looking with delicate leaves and tiny pink flowers.
