85 days. An orange fleshed muskmelon dating back to around 1890. Quality 2-3 lb. netted fruit with firm, sweet, tasty flesh; one of the first "modern type" melons. It was once very popular.

What are the pros? vigorous grower

What are the cons? no fruit

Review:

I couldn't get much out of this one in Cleveland OH. Although the plants grew large and bushy with scores of blossoms, no fruit ever set. Perhaps, this variety needs a warmer, Southern climate.

Review:

We grew these last year, and they were so juicy and delicious. The kind of really flavorful that you can't carry on a conversation while you're eating them. You have to just sit down and savor them, and let your hands and face get all sticky.

Review:

I own a small garden but this year I dedicated it to tomatoes, for my dad, and trying my hand at growing melons. I grew a few plants on the ground and trellised two others. The ground ones did fine with a few fruits per plant, but the trellised Hoodoos set about 7 at once and then a few more throughout the season. Will be growing these again. Very sweet and good scent.
